How I’m Making Better Choices This Summer with Brita
This post is sponsored by Brita but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.
If you’re like me and you work from home, you know how important it is to stay active. Since transitioning from my previous full-time job as a lead preschool teacher into being a work from home mom, I’m not as active as I once was.
It’s been two years now and I’m really just starting to become more active throughout my week. For the past few months, I’ve been focusing more on getting my business off of the ground, meaning that the daily walks outside, or exercising with kids has been on the back burner. So I’ve made some mental adjustments and I’m now committed to working out again.
Exercising doesn’t have to be redundant and boring. There are lots of ways to get into shape without making it a chore and there are a few ways to trick yourself into thinking that you’re not actually working out, when you are.
Park Far Away From The Entrance
It can be so tempting to want to get the first parking spot available, BUT it may not always be the best option for you if you’re needing to burn off the extra calories.
Instead, try parking in the very back of the lot and walk to and from the door. Bonus points if you walk around the store first, before grabbing what you need and heading out.
Exercise While Your Kids Play
Trips to the park don’t have to be solely for your kids. While your kids enjoy the playground, you can easily get a workout right next to the play yard. It’s a great way for the entire family to stay active and your body will thank you. You’ll also see improvements in your mood.
Stay Hydrated
It’s so important to stay hydrated! Not just for your active lifestyle, but for your overall health. Staying hydrated whether you’re on the go, or exercising in the park, is now easier than ever with the Brita Filtering Bottle. The best thing about this is that you won’t have to worry about the waste from single-use plastic water bottles!
You can have great tasting water on the go for yourself and your family, while replacing 1,800 single-use plastic bottles a year. You will also be saving money, because the Brita Filtering Bottle is reusable, BPA-Free and reduces chlorine taste and odor. These bottles are also sleek, making them fit in any cup holder easier and are available in six gorgeous colors.
Whether you’re looking to stay more active or switch up your routine a bit, start off by creating good habits for yourself and your family. To put our water bottle usage into perspective: 2,000 plastic water bottles are used every second in the U.S. and we spend $13 billion on bottled water each year. Just one filter in your Brita Filtering Bottle can replace up to 300 disposable plastic water bottles, so you can enjoy great-tasting water without the waste. Get fit, stay active and save money all while saving waste – sounds pretty ‘ecoMOMical’ to me.
