When it comes to eclectic, fun, jazzy, eccentric, small town vibes – Ocean Springs, Mississippi serves ALL of these vibes on a silver platter! If you’re looking for your next vacation, Coastal Mississippi is it.
Vacationing is all about relaxing and enjoying your time with the ones you love most and most of the overly popular attractions make you feel rushed, keep you waiting in line and before you know it – your entire vacation is over. Not here. Coastal Mississippi is filled with so many attractions and has a unique way of making you and your family feel as if you’re the only ones who exist! Trust me, I know this first-hand.
From our stay at The Roost, our family coffee date at The Greenhouse On Porter and our trip out into the Gulf of Mexico during The Biloxi Shrimping Trip – Coastal Mississippi most certainly knows how to accommodate you, your family and your friends!
While enjoying a couple of dreamy nights at the luxurious boutique hotel, The Roost, we were delighted to get a taste of the food at Mosaic. Mosaic is less than a mile from The Roost and on a day with exceptional weather, it’s less than a fifteen minute walk.
I’m a huge foodie! After working in upscale restaurants for a few years as a server and bartender, I know GOOD food and quality service. Mosaic provided both, plus a relaxing ambiance, beautiful decor and live music.
For this to be apart of Ocean Spring’s nightlife, we all felt extremely safe, relaxed and unbothered, even with our kids in tow. Along with a charming ambiance, the cuisine was also phenomenal. There are so many dishes to choose from and a huge variety to satisfy anyone’s taste buds.
We chose to sample the crab tartas – a fried pastry filled crab and cream cheese, served with a house remoulade sauce.
We ordered some quesadillas for the kids and whenever we’re in Coastal Mississippi – we HAVE to get a taste of gulf coast shrimp. So, it was only right to order the Shrimp Scampi – which includes sauteed, locally sourced, gulf coast shrimp cooked in a white wine butter sauce and served over angel hair pasta.
Tacos are always hit and these Mahi Mahi Tacos topped with pineapple salsa were a hit for all of us! To get a taste of more of The Gulf, we also had a taste of their Shrimp & Grits – a southern fried grit cake topped with a fresh tomato caper cream sauce and more locally sourced grilled shrimp.
You can also expect to enjoy a decadent dessert, if you have room for it! There are two options on their dessert menu – The Mosaic Cake or the Caramel Churros. We went with the churros, which were also served with neapolitan ice cream and topped with caramel sauce. Can you say, yum?
All in all, Ocean Springs, Mississippi treated us swell and I am already plotting our next stay! Mosaic was truly an unforgettable experience – from the decor, the live music, the prompt and friendly service and of course, the delicious food. Again, you have to consider Coastal Mississippi for your next getaway!
